JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal applicant will be able and willing to work in a fast-paced and demanding workplace.
- Assist in the implementation of the Market Connectivity, Low Touch, Cash Equities, and Program Trading business plans, based on a thorough understanding of global markets and familiarity with local counter parties such as technology providers, regulators, and brokers.
- Develop good ties with sales/traders, especially those in Asia. This includes determining their needs and turning them into IT activities that can be completed.
- Manage project work across many IT teams around the globe, as well as collaborate with key stakeholders in Business Management, Operations, Compliance, Risk Management, and Audit.
- Create budgets, keep track of finances, and keep spending under control. This includes keeping track of invoices and purchases.
- Support the system on a daily basis, especially during key system go-live times.
- Assemble technology teams, including developers, analysts, and quality assurance testers.
- A hands-on Business Analyst who handles day-to-day tasks
- Gather requirements and enter them into the business requirement documentation (BRD) to ensure that the product or work item sought matches the business expectation. Collect signatures on the BRD from business stakeholders such as Compliance, Sales Trading, and other teams that must be involved in order to deliver the final product.
- Confirm project schedules with teams such as QA, Development, Infrastructure, Support, and Business. Follow up on progress throughout the project cycle until the product is delivered. During project delivery, keep an eye on the risk and any potential gaps.
- Ensure that the product supplied matches the signed-offBRD, and engage with users to do user acceptance testing (UAT) so that they are familiar with the product and any newworkflows.
- BAU Priority and Testing - Collaborate with the business to ensure trading system priorities including Viper, Liquid, Cobra, Python, and Fuse/Blaze.
- Conduct new feature tests and review business test cases.
- Assist with UAT and give new user training as needed.
- Prepare and defend change tickets before the CAB and Trading System change committees.
- Run governance meetings: business prioritisation, PWG, and run-book reviews for the go-live phase
- L3 assistance (escalation for production incidents from users and TechOps).
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in the field of computer science or information technology management.
- Proven track record as a problem solver: assist all teams in achieving their objectives via collaboration, communication, and procedure adherence.
- Business-minded, with a methodical approach to getting things done.
- Thorough knowledge of stock trading and the global regulatory framework.
- A firm manager who is also kind and a good listener.
- Proven track record of forming and leading tech teams (devOps, analysts, and testers).
- Excellent communicator.
- Knowledge in securities trading and expertise managing IT projects.
- Working with NYC, LDN, and pan-Asia teams will provide you with valuable global financial institution experience.
- Front-to-back office understanding of an investment bank's whole transaction flow.
- Proven track record of dealing with top business and technology stakeholders.
- In-depth Equities Low Touch, High Touch , Program trading and Facilitation trading business knowledge.
- Understanding in Java, C#, SQL, FIX message protocol, in-memory databases such as Gigaspaces, Ignite, Coherence, middleware such as TIBCO and Solace is a plus.
