A major global investment bank is seeking a new Head of Operational Risk covering the second line of defense for Technology, Cyber, Resilience, and Information Risk in the Americas.
The Head will review and challenge the first line of defense, the implementation, and their execution of risk management in accordance with the firm's policies and frameworks. The individual will be recognized as an SME for second line risks and first line interactions with exposures from technology, cyber, resilience, and information security risks.
They will work with a large global team to be a strategic member in driving the firm's US growth objectives and presence. They will deliver, review and challenge RCSAs as well as escalate risk events and reviews. The Head will serve on risk committees and champion the agenda for technology, cyber, information, and resilience risk themes.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in a first or second-line operational risk function with working expertise covering either technology, information, cyber, and/or resilience risks
- Thorough understanding of tech, info, cyber, and resilience risks landscapes and threats
- Experience working in large banking and/or insurance organizations
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent grasp of regulatory banking environment
- Background in operational risk, audit, and/or controls
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred, professional qualifications are relevant
- Experience delivering strategic transformation in a large bank, insurance, or financial services organization
