As Head of Risk you will:
- manage the company's complete Risk framework and control processes.
- report directly to the CEO and be responsible for structuring and developing the risk management team.
- be expected to aggregate, identify, track and manage risks pertaining to operations, prop and agency trading, both spot and derivatives, treasury optimization activities, and early-stage investments.
- work closely with our different trading desks and internal finance and regulatory teams.
Job description:
Design, implement and lead a global risk management strategy for the organization
Support the CEO and CIO in strengthening the company's risk management culture
Establish and quantify the organization's 'risk appetite' and ensure risk approach adheres accordingly
Horizon scan to increase awareness of risks affecting the business
Continual drive for enhanced efficiency and client service (internal and external) in all Risk processes
Develop, lead and motivate the Risk team to maximize effectiveness
Ensure senior management remains informed of risk position changes and how they impact the firm
Provide regular reports to CEO and other relevant bodies detailing any current issues or information as required
Conduct internal audits, in close collaboration with the FP&A team
Providing support, education, and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organization
Provision of proactive and practical risk management advice to business managers and support functions
Work closely with key stakeholders to understand the business requirement for projects, develop effective working relationships during project implementation and ensure business as usual ownership is understood by management
Background and experience:
Knowledge and experience commensurate with this role and having dealt with financial services covering all service lines offerings (market making, OTC, proprietary trading on both spot and derivatives instruments)
Must be able to demonstrate a broad technical knowledge and expertise covering the conduct of business matters, corporate governance matters, and financial risk matters
Practical and commercial approach to problem-solving
Experience of influence behaviors at all levels of the organization
Proven track record of delivering enhancements to process efficiency
Experience of leading and motivating a multi-jurisdictional, multi-specialism team
Ability to produce and present effective presentations and training sessions
