A highly regarded Investment Management firm based in Charlotte, NC is expanding its Legal team and is seeking an attorney with investment funds experience to join the firm. The role will largely focus on supporting the structuring and maintenance of various funds and managed account products. This firm has a very friendly and collaborative culture in which individuals at all levels will be able to have a high impact on the success of the firm.
Responsibilities:
- Review and draft funds documentation such as prospectuses, investment management agreements, subscription documents, and distribution agreements
- Act as an internal advisor to the Investments team by giving Legal advice on an as-needed basis on any transactional or regulatory matters
- Negotiate directly with investors
- Communicate with C-level leadership on various projects when necessary
Requirements:
- JD from an accredited university
- 4-8 years of legal experience at a law firm, in-house, or a combination of both
- Legal experience focused on a variety of fund structures, and relevant regulations including the Investment Company Act, the Advisers Act, UCITS, MIFID and AIFMD transactions
- Strong written and oral communication skills
