A leading American insurance company with a global presence, is looking to hire a leader for their Enterprise Risk Management team. This senior leader will be focusing on Global Commercial Property and their Private Client Group, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer of their General Insurance business. This is a very senior, high exposure role requiring extensive expertise within the P&C space specifically working with Commercial Property and high-net worth private clients across all risk types. This is including insurance, operational, market, credit, model and technology risks.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Overseeing the effectiveness of risk management within the company's Commercial Property and Private Client Group across all risk types
- Working with international Risk Officers to ensure local, in-country risk oversight and consistency of approach is appropriate
- Challenging all first line strategies and budgets
- Bolstering the risk management culture across all effected lines of business, ensuring growth that is balanced with profitability and risk
- Leading the aggregate and allocated economic capital calculation methodology, and enhancement of its uses in pricing and portfolio management
- Reviewing natural catastrophe model calibrations and uses, and effectively challenging technical pricing, reserving, portfolio and concentration management approaches
- Reviewing the design and implementation risk limits, tolerances and catastrophe capacity allocations in accordance with established Risk Appetite
What We Would Like to See in You:
- A strong risk mindset and ability to challenge
- Broad global insurance industry experience with a knowledge of Commercial Property and Personal Insurance products and their associated risks
- Underwriting, Actuarial Catastrophe Modeling or Risk Management experience is required and non-negotiable
- High level business acumen with strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Experience using risk models, aggregation tools and data investigation, particularly for natural catastrophe and terror risks
- Understanding of capital and liquidity implications from a change in risk profile through economic, statutory and GAAP lenses
- At least 10 years of experience operating in a global organization
- Proven ability to recruit, develop and retain a high functioning team
