Role Responsibilities:
- Trading physical fuel oil/bitumen/base oils as well the associated derivatives.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with relevant counterparties.
- Liaise with other internal teams regarding chartering, operations, marketing and refining.
- Formulate proprietary trading strategies for the physical and derivatives book.
- Negotiate spot & term contracts with refiners, producers and traders.
- Maintain and improve the trading systems and strategies.
- Source the best feedstocks for the refining system.
- Liaise with relevant teams to ensure the successful execution physical and financial trades.
- Ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with current policies/regulations.
- Support the origination team in developing long-term strategies.
Individual Attributes:
- Experience trading bitumen and/or fuel oil is essential.
- Proficient with derivative instruments for hedging.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience trading physical bitumen would be preferred.
- Full understanding of global trade flows for the relevant products.
- A degree in mathematics, engineering, economics or equivalent qualification.
- Additional language skills would be advantageous.
