We are currently working with a global private equity firm who are looking for a Direct Lending Analyst/Associate to join their team in London.
*This position is also open to M&A candidates who wish to transition to private credit.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough financial analysis of potential investment opportunities, including financial statement analysis, cash flow modelling, and valuation assessments.
- Perform extensive due diligence on target companies, industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to assess risk factors and identify key investment drivers.
- Assist in structuring financing transactions, including evaluating various debt instruments, negotiating terms, and preparing investment memos and presentations for senior management and investment committees.
- Conduct comprehensive credit analysis and risk assessment to determine the suitability of investment opportunities, including assessing borrower creditworthiness, collateral analysis, and covenant structuring.
- Monitor portfolio companies on an ongoing basis, track financial performance, covenant compliance, and industry developments, and prepare regular reports for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA designation preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in investment banking M&A, leveraged finance, or direct lending.
- Strong financial modelling skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial analysis tools and databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ) preferred.
- Excellent analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a deep understanding of financial statements and valuation techniques.
- Fluency in a European language would be advantageous, ideally French or German.
