What you will do:
- Install and cable switches, servers, and appliances
- Set standards for cabling, rack layouts, and data center operations
- Identify opportunities to reduce and minimize latency within the infrastructure
- Maintain documentation within the DCIM tool
- Maintain optimal A/C and power conditions
What you will need:
- 5+ years of professional experience in a data center
- Expertise with HP, IBM, and Dell Servers, Blades, SAN and Cisco equipment
- Background with CAT5/6 and fiber optic cabling, as well as SFP's and other optic devices
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux server administration
- Regular local travel (approximately 75% of the time); occasional international travel
- Must have a valid driver's license and passport
- Must have reliable transportation
This role will work in the firm's Chicago office, 5 days in office.
