My client is a leading provider of insurance solutions, committed to delivering innovative products and exceptional service to their clients. They are seeking a talented Excess & Surplus (E&S) Commercial Property Underwriter to join their dynamic team in either New York City, Chicago, or Charlotte.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and underwrite Excess & Surplus (E&S) commercial property insurance risks within assigned authority levels
- Assess risk characteristics and determine appropriate pricing and coverage terms
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and agents to drive business growth
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including claims, risk engineering, and legal teams to ensure comprehensive risk assessment
- Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to identify business opportunities
- Maintain underwriting discipline and adherence to company underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and insureds
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in Excess & Surplus (E&S) commercial property underwriting
- Strong knowledge of commercial property insurance coverages and underwriting principles
- Proven ability to analyze complex risk scenarios and make underwriting decisions
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with underwriting software is a plus
