Role Overview: As the Manager of Actuarial Services, you'll be at the forefront of our commitment to health and wellness. You'll lead a team of certified and non-certified actuarial professionals, driving the development and delivery of essential actuarial work products across our diverse product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage actuarial staff to deliver high-quality work products across various initiatives and product offerings.
- Foster the professional growth of actuarial staff, balancing educational requirements, technical skill development, and project deliverables.
- Oversee performance management and evaluations for effective team operations.
- Independently develop complex actuarial models while ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Provide peer review for actuarial work products and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Finance, and Clinical Operations.
- Advocate for and uphold Data Governance and Data Architecture framework.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques to ensure the quality and reliability of results.
- Document processes and assumptions in compliance with actuarial standards and regulations.
- Ensure confidentiality and privacy standards are upheld in handling all data in accordance with HIPAA and corporate guidelines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in actuarial science within health insurance or consulting.
- ASA or FSA certification preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, either through direct management experience or mentorship.
- Proficiency with data extraction technologies such as SQL.
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to translate analytics into actionable insights.
Preferences:
- Experience in people management.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Advanced knowledge of research and analytics methodologies.
- Expertise in advanced statistical techniques for analyzing large datasets.
