Role: Managing Consultant - Insurance
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Join our client's team as a Managing Consultant in the risk advisory sector, where you'll play a pivotal role in expanding their insurance practice in the Netherlands. Your primary focus will be advising and supporting existing clients on a spectrum of critical areas including Solvency II, Asset & Liability Management, IFRS9 & IFRS17, actuarial modeling, risk management, hedging strategies, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with clients, partners, and a team of seasoned risk management experts, you'll craft solutions to intricate business challenges, refining both your technical acumen and entrepreneurial flair.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead large and intricate projects in collaboration with a team of consultants.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations in areas such as Solvency II, IFRS implementation, risk management, and climate risks.
- Develop, optimize, or update risk management processes and frameworks.
- Design and validate ALM models for precise calculation of regulatory indicators.
- Advise on strategic asset allocation through detailed ALM studies.
- Analyze and interpret complex regulatory frameworks.
- Participate in implementing diverse risk models, tools, or solutions.
- Drive the development and automation of risk and regulatory reporting.
- Proactively propose tailored solutions aligned with client needs and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a liaison between clients' business teams and the technical team, translating business requirements into detailed specifications for IT.
In addition to these responsibilities, you'll:
- Actively contribute to business development initiatives and internal projects.
- Cultivate and nurture strong client relationships.
- Enhance the company's reputation in the financial industry through publications and participation in conferences and networking events.
Key Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Econometrics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience (preferably qualified actuary at IABE).
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in the insurance industry.
- Profound understanding of insurance regulations and compliance.
- Exceptional project management skills, particularly in leading large and complex projects.
- Demonstrated success in business development and sales.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, SAS, MATLAB, etc., with a willingness to further develop skills.
- Familiarity with actuarial tools like Prophet, AXIS, or Remetrica is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities in Dutch and English.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Fast learner.
- Willingness to travel and work across Europe.
