Selby Jennings has partnered directly with the Global Head of Equities Technology at a Investment Bank that is looking to expand their NYC based team. They have a massive greenfield project in the works which is to totally rebuild their order management system from scratch as well as other critical trading infrastructure.
The team runs very lean and consists of four engineers who are all experienced very talented. This role will be at VP level and the candidate will be expected to act as the technical lead and remain focused in being hands on. The work will be done in very low level Java.
The hiring manager mentioned that what he is looking for most is people who truly have great computer science fundamentals and know what good code looks like. He is flexible on the previous project experience, he just wants elite Java engineers who ideally have low latency experience.
Requirements:
- Must have strong core Java skills
- Experience working as a developer in a trading environment
- Experience with low latency systems would be a bonus
- Good communication skills to work in a cross functional environment
