Senior Security Engineer (Azure, Splunk, Alerting, Threat Hunting) | Boston/Remote
One of Boston's most Prestigious Quantitative Investment Firms has an opportunity for a Senior Security Engineer to help them automate and secure their cloud and on-prem systems. This is a tech-first, data driven firm that is particularly focused on exceptional security since they manage almost $80 billion in assets under management on behalf of their clients. We are hiring two individuals on this team as this firm rapidly migrates to the cloud. You'll be involved in rapid prototyping, compatibility engineering, and the invention of new security solutions. In a hands-on, technical capacity, you'll also have a chance to lead/mentor a lean, collaborative team on best practices for the maintenance, deployment, modernization, and optimization of security systems.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzing vulnerabilities to determine their root cause, severity, and security impact
- Analyze, design, and implement security measures to monitor & protect sensitive data, systems, & infrastructure from infiltration and cyber-attacks
- Own firewalls and data loss prevention, log management, intrusion detection, and anti-virus systems
- Modernize security tooling, harden existing cloud security solutions, and implement and integrate new systems and tools
- Lead a lean, collaborative team on best practices for the maintenance, deployment, modernization, and optimization of security systems
Preferred qualifications:
- BS/BA or equivalent degree in technology field
- Demonstrated expertise across the Microsoft security stack (i.e. Azure, M365, Defender, etc)
- Cloud security experience (preferably with Azure, but AWS/GCP is valuable as well!)
- Strong analytical, decision making, & problem-solving skills working independently and as part of a team
- Strong time management, work-load prioritization, and written & oral communication skills
- Proactive approach to keeping up with and educating others about security threats
