A global technology-driven hedge fund is seeking a few Site Reliability Engineers to join their Electronic Trading Tech team in Chicago or New York. My client is actively building out a brand new research and analytics platform that will be used globally by businesses and provide valuable information on global trading trends. As an SRE, you will be part of a team that will be spearheading the development of a new pipeline and ultimately changing how infrastructure and DevOps will be valued within the firm by utilizing progressive technologies and native deployment strategies.
Working with the brightest minds in the industry and engineers with FAANG backgrounds, you will be taking a software engineering approach to be responsible for building out distributed systems and have an SRE mindset by being passionate about developing solutions to continually improving the environments. Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- A Master's or Ph.D. from a top 50 Computer Science or Computer Information Systems program
- At least four years of professional experience working with Linux Environment and working on a bare-metal server
- A background in Systems Engineering or Software Engineer and understands the value of SRE methodologies or reliability
- Engineers with 6-10 years of experience need to come from a hedge fund or a large financial institution; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Engineers with less than 6 years of experience need to have experience working in high-performance environments.
- Expert programming skills with Python.
- Strong communication skills; ability to identify latency issues and communicate clearly your solution
- Ability to be a critical thinker and challenge the norms.
