Selby Jennings is exclusively partnered with an energy trading firm with a strong presence in the Power and Natural Gas commodities markets. The Middle Office Analyst for Power and Natural Gas Commodities Trading will play a key role in supporting the firm's trading activities and will gain exposure to both Power and Natural Gas traders.
Responsibilities:
- Engaging with Traders, Analysts, Risk, and Accounting teams to develop a comprehensive understanding of our commodities business from front to back.
- Providing daily reports on Position and PnL
- Conducting daily reconciliations.
- Serving as a primary resource for data and analysis across various portfolios and trading strategies.
- Partnering with the Back Office to comprehend and present economic value reconciliations and walk-throughs.
- Collaborating closely with global Trade Operations colleagues to coordinate and standardize processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, economics, or a related field.
- 1+ year(s) experience in supporting Power and Natural Gas trading within a middle office or related function.
- Strong understanding of energy trading products, trading lifecycle, and risk management concepts.
- Proficiency in trading and risk management systems and related software (e.g., ETRM systems).
- SQL, Python, and VBA skills
