New Director Credit Risk role open in a leading global financial services firm, providing a comprehensive range of investment banking, securities, investment management, and wealth management services. The role will reside within the Credit Risk Management Department, reporting to the Head of Risk for the European region and you would have a team in Frankfurt.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, challenge, and approve counterparty credit and lending transactions within the role-holder's authority. Advise the CRO and Firmwide risk organization on significant risk transactions and credit risk issues.
- Oversee credit analysis and risk management for counterparties and borrowers, including setting and independently monitoring portfolio and single name risk appetite. Develop and maintain credit limit frameworks aligned with the risk appetite statement.
- Review and ensure the integrity and reliability of credit risk metrics and reporting.
- Understand the credit risk control framework and credit risk profile from both current and forward-looking perspectives. Provide recommendations on credit risk management strategies.
- Oversee and develop stress tests to assess credit vulnerabilities. Contribute to the internal capital adequacy assessment process (ICAAP).
- Understand and oversee the Firm's internal credit risk capital models (IMM and IRB).
- Ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulations, and where necessary, attest to compliance.
- Lead interactions with regulators and other stakeholders, providing accurate and timely submissions.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, or a related field; professional qualifications (CFA or equivalent) preferred.
- Experienced in credit risk management, with a focus on counterparty credit risk from Sales & Trading.
- Experience with the European regulatory landscape and interactions with regulators.
- Experience leading teams and working with external stakeholders.
